A wall. A gate. The only remnants at the original site. Not much but rather significant. Poeple coming from the square would see the gate first, and those flaneuring in the street would go along the wall. Respecting this staring situation was of key importance. Thus the number of openings overlooking the street had to be minimized. Inward and upward reamined. Furthermore, there was a fundamental demand, on this small site, to maximize the outdoor areas, that can be easily accesed, so they can play an important role in the everyday life of the house. This way the demands for function and form becam analogue.
