Façade The building is accessed through a hidden sliding door that disappears into the brick facade when shut

Site plan The large central courtyard, the green rooftops of the living spaces, and the rear yards organically extend the building into the sprawling forest behind it.

First floor plan The service spaces are discreetly arranged along the back wall, hidden from view.

Second floor plan The residential units provide convenient access to all amenities.

Section A-A Built into the base of the furniture-like gallery, concealed storage compartments house the artists' tools and supplies.

Section B-B The building's rear visually blends into its natural surroundings.

Section C-C The skylights allow an abundance of natural light to flood the space.

Section D-D The building is designed to accommodate both community engagement and solitary retreat.

This facility is designed to serve as a creative haven, fostering artistic expression inspired by Esztergom's serene and historic surroundings. Upon entering from the street, visitors are greeted by a courtyard surrounded by a cloister, evoking the atmosphere of a monastic inner sanctum. The ground-floor art studio and gallery are designed to be divisible while maintaining a seamless flow between them. This adaptable layout allows for concurrent yet distinct functions. Natural light floods the art studio, with its gallery-like design, expansive windows, and ceiling cutouts. Both exterior and interior staircases provide access to the upper floor. The floor features four independent residential units, each with its own private courtyard and direct access to the Basilica.
