The site, located in the centre of Budafok, is ideally suited to host this cultural institution. The principle of massing is to rotate a series of rectangular prisms in relation to each other, and to place the main hall and the foyer between them. Windows are placed in the “gaps” of the sliding masses. A corridor is formed around the main hall, which is extended by the foyer. The structure of the foyer is a pillar frame and curtain wall, matching the geometrical system of the sliding masses. The row of pillars is extended by a few repetitions in front of the main entrance, where there is an open space covered by a pergola. The public circulation spaces and the spaces accessible to workers are separated. This means that there is a main entrance on the south side, a service entrance on the north side and an additional service entrance to the cafeteria kitchen. The ceiling of the main hall is supported by reinforced concrete beams 1 m high, which is why the large hall appears on the mass.
