Located in the historic center of Košice, the site closes a traditional courtyard-passage system. Following this urban logic, the building mass was shifted to create a linear inner garden and a sculptural "objet d'art." The library defines four public zones: an entrance courtyard, an inner garden, a transit space, and a town square arriving from Craftsmen's Street. The design integrates a graffiti shop and workshop, as the city's muralist culture became relevant by pulling the mass away from the firewalls. The building opens towards both the side space and the garden, creating a system of 'floating' rooms. The ground floor houses service units, a hall, and the shop. The interior's centerpiece is a yellow recessed, oval lounge breaking the strict grid. Green islands bring the garden indoors. The first floor is the lending space; the youth section features a CLT "fortress" with a gaming station. The second floor offers an intimate reading area and digital services.
