Art center at the wall’s shadow, Kosice

The aim of my complex design is the renewal of the historic city wall of Košice. The intervention preserves the historical monument in its current state while integrating it into the life of the city through additional spaces with new functions. A large-scale steel structure running along the wall creates covered yet open spaces suitable for artistic creation, exhibitions, and installations. A new event hall placed next to the wall provides a venue for cultural and art-focused community events. In terms of materiality, the exposed concrete of the building continues the character of the city wall, while the steel structure appears as a distinct, eye-catching element within the historic urban fabric.
